Windows 11 User PIN

Copper Contributor

Greetings,

Our team encountered a situation where a former colleague departed, leaving us with a sole user on the computer system. To address this, I activated the default administrator account and successfully modified the password to obtain access. However, a hurdle has arisen concerning the PIN. Attempting to alter or deactivate the PIN prompts a recovery email linked to the individual's personal account, complicating matters due to strained relations during the departure process. Is there a workaround? Could the registry hold this email information for potential modification? Your input would be invaluable.

Open Settings:

Click on the Start menu (Windows icon) or press the Windows key on your keyboard.
Select Settings (gear icon) or type "Settings" in the search bar.

Navigate to Accounts:

In the Settings window, click on Accounts.

Sign-in Options:

On the left sidebar, select Sign-in options.
Before making any changes, ensure you have a backup of your registry and system configuration. Modifying the registry or group policy can potentially cause system instability or other issues. Proceed with caution.

What exactly happens when you click 'Remove' at Settings > Accounts > Sign-in option > PIN?

Also, changing your password usually require to re-setup PIN.

To modify the PIN recovery email, you can try editing the registry. This method requires caution and a good understanding of the registry editor. Before attempting this, make sure you have a backup of your system and registry, as modifying the registry can have unintended consequences.
