Windows 11 updating Prolific serial driver with a bad driver.

Windows 11 keeps updating Prolific driver  3.6.81.357 ,which works fine , with driver 3.8.40.0 which does not work at all for my serial port.  When you look at driver 3.8.40.0 it says " Please install corresponding PL 2303 driver to support windows 11 and further OS . "  I have been installing the working driver with Prolific's  " PL2303_prolific_DriverInstaller_V1_12.0 " .  It works fine until Windows updates it again with the bad driver.

To prevent Windows Update from automatically installing the incorrect driver I had to edit my Group Policy settings to not update drivers. I tested by checking for updates and it did not include the drivers this time. If your pc is on a domain, then your administrator may have control over your group policy settings and might need to make the change for you.
