Windows 11 Hidden Taskbar Pops Up when Notifications Disabled

Hello folks,

 

I want my taskbar to be hidden until I want it, not until an app wants my attention. I've turned off notifications under "System > Notifications" but the taskbar still pops up when I receive Discord messages. I've also disabled notifications for Discord specifically, no dice. 

 

Oddly enough, if I start a Focus Session the taskbar stays down when I receive notifications... Does anyone know of a way to force the taskbar to stay down without starting a Focus Session?

    I fixed this by setting " enable taskbar flashing" to false in my discord's notification settings.

    I still think there should be a setting to keep the taskbar hidden when there are notifications, and many people have requested this even in windows 10: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/stop-notifications-from-unhiding-my-taskbar/537be70f-475f-49a8-9f45-c5e531c63984

    I want notifications on my taskbar, I just don't want my taskbar to show if there's a notification, since it blocks the VS Code status bar.
