Why did the search highlight option disappear entirely after a reboot?

Why did the search highlight option vanish completely from Settings after my PC rebooted due to a power outage, and why hasn't anything brought it back? I've already tried just about everything, including the "fix problems using Windows update" feature, but nothing has worked.

Is this a known issue with the current build, or could the sudden shutdown have corrupted a setting somewhere? Has anyone else run into this, because I can't find anything about it online?
