What Makes Windows Create a New Network Connection Out of Nowhere?

I’ve noticed that Windows sometimes creates a new network connection even though I haven’t intentionally changed any network settings or connected a new device. It can happen after restarting, installing updates, switching between Wi-Fi and Ethernet, or waking the PC from sleep, and I’m trying to understand what triggers these extra connections and whether they could affect my internet or network configuration; has anyone else experienced something similar and found a reliable way to prevent unnecessary network connections from appearing?
