This PC can’t run Windows

Copper Contributor

I am building a new computer from scratch and I’m getting an error when trying to install Windows 11.

“This PC can’t run Windows.”

Motherboard: Asus Prime B450M-A II

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 4100

GPU: GEFORCE GTX 1650

Hard drive: FIKWOT FS810 250GB SSD

RAM: 16GB

Secure boot: Windows UEFI mode

AMD fTPM configuration: Enable Firmware TPM

I’ve tried updating the BIOS, but I’m still not sure why I can’t install Windows 11 with these parts?

Please check the Windows 11 system requirements from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11-specifications?r=1

@corwinddkm I’ve checked it many times and I am certain that it all meets requirements.

Is there a part there that you see does not meet system requirements?

Hello @SkylerMatson.

The CPU is compatible with Windows 11, but I can see a line stating "Enable Firmware TPM": read the document at https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/enable-tpm-2-0-on-your-pc-1fd5a332-360d-4f46-a1e7-ae6b0c... to know how you can enable TPM 2.0 in your PC.

Bye.

Hi, TPM 2.0 is enabled so this comment does not help.

@SkylerMatson

According to ASUS's own website, it looks to me like the issue is your motherboard.  It has support for Windows 10 and Windows 7 out of the box according to their own specs:  https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-b450m-a-ii/techspec/

I would reach out to ASUS support for a firmware update.

For comparison, here are specs for my own ASUS motherboard that runs Windows 11 with no issues:  https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-z790m-plus/techspec/
