The Taskbar Randomly Floats to the Wrong Monitor and Won't Stay Locked
My taskbar in Windows 11 randomly moves to the wrong monitor and refuses to stay locked in place, causing inconvenience and disrupting my workflow. Despite trying to lock the taskbar and adjusting display settings, the issue persists intermittently, and it often shifts to a different monitor without warning, especially after disconnecting and reconnecting monitors or during system restarts.

Hi garland, I’d check whether Windows is changing which screen it considers the primary display after reconnects or restarts. Set the main monitor again in Display settings, update the graphics driver, and try turning show my taskbar on all displays off and back on; if it keeps happening after dock or monitor changes, it may be Windows remembering a stale monitor layout.
