If RAM soldered on my Win 11 Computer!
I recently purchased a Windows 11 laptop and I am trying to determine if its RAM is soldered onto the motherboard or if it has upgradeable SODIMM slots for future expansion, but I cannot find clear information in the specifications. Could someone please advise on how to physically check this or recommend a reliable software tool that can confirm whether the memory is soldered or removable on this specific model?

The most reliable answer will come from the laptop’s exact model and its service manual, not from a general hardware tool. Open Settings > System > About, note the manufacturer and model number, then search the manufacturer’s support site for the service manual or memory specifications.
If the documentation says onboard memory, soldered memory, or LPDDR4/LPDDR5, the RAM is normally fixed to the motherboard. If it lists one or more SODIMM slots, those modules can usually be replaced or upgraded. Some laptops use a mixture of both, such as 8 GB soldered memory plus one upgradeable SODIMM slot.
Task Manager can provide a useful clue under Performance > Memory, where it may show “Slots used.” A PowerShell or hardware-information tool can also report the installed module’s type and part number, but that data comes from the BIOS and does not confirm whether a slot is physically accessible. It should not be treated as a final answer.
Only remove the bottom cover if the manufacturer’s guide says the memory is user-serviceable. Shut the laptop down, unplug the charger, and follow the model-specific instructions for the internal battery. If the manual is unclear, posting the exact model number will make it possible to check the correct upgrade options.
Look inside for the RAM slots. If you see long, rectangular modules sitting in slots with clips on either side, your RAM is likely upgradeable. If the RAM appears to be directly soldered onto the motherboard (no removable modules), then it is soldered.
If you see SODIMM slots with removable RAM modules, your memory is upgradeable.
