Can resetting firmware settings resolve unexplained hardware conflicts?
Resetting firmware settings to default can often resolve unexplained hardware conflicts by clearing corrupted configuration data and eliminating unstable custom parameters that may be causing resource contention. However, this is not a guaranteed fix for all conflicts, as some issues stem from driver problems, physical defects, or incompatible components that firmware defaults cannot address.

Residual boot order conflicts that cause the system to hang while searching for devices.

You have hit on a crucial distinction in PC troubleshooting. Resetting to defaults is the "nuclear option" for logical configuration, but it is completely impotent against physical or systemic rot.

Overclocking the CPU, RAM, or GPU can introduce instability that manifests as crashes, freezes, or data corruption. Defaults restore safe, validated parameters.
