When will Windows stop asking me to try the new Outlook?

Every few days, Windows keeps reminding me to try the new Outlook, even though I'm perfectly happy using the classic Outlook and have no real interest in switching. I've dismissed the prompts several times, but they keep coming back, which is getting pretty annoying; does anyone know whether Microsoft plans to stop pushing these notifications eventually, or is there a permanent way to disable them without affecting regular Outlook updates?

Dismissing the promotion usually closes that particular prompt; it doesn’t necessarily opt you out of future ones. I can’t confirm a date when Microsoft will stop showing them.

The right setting depends on where it appears:

    • A Windows notification: open Settings > System > Notifications and identify the sending app. You can turn off its notifications, but that may also hide useful alerts from that app.
    • A banner or “Try the new Outlook” switch inside classic Outlook: Windows notification settings won’t control it. On a work PC, ask IT about Microsoft’s HideNewOutlookToggle setting. That hides the switch, but isn’t a universal blocker for every promotional message.

These changes don’t disable Office updates. Avoid turning updates off to suppress the promotion—there isn’t one supported personal setting that permanently blocks every form of new-Outlook advertising.
