Turn off Edge on startup

How do I stop Edge starting on start up? I have tried this and it has  not worked.

If you don't want Microsoft Edge to start when you sign in to Windows, you can change this in Windows Settings.

1. Go to Start  > Settings .

2. Select Accounts > Sign-in options.

3. Turn off Automatically save my restartable apps when I sign out and restart them when I sign in

Many thanks

    1. Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
    2. Click on Apps in the left sidebar.
    3. In the Apps section, select Startup.
    4. Scroll through the list and look for Microsoft Edge. Toggle it off.

I hope this works as this very iritating. On the Microsoft general site it describes a different solution that DOES NOT WORK. Fingers crossed. I guess the only other solution will be to find a way to uninstall Microsoft Edge which I am sure will be tricky.

Hi Alan Freeman, preventing the Microsoft Edge browser from launching on Windows 10 startup is quite simple, you can do this directly within the Microsoft Edge settings, just follow my instructions below:

    1. Open the Edge browser.
    2. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner to open a drop-down menu, then click on "Settings" within that menu.

    3. In the new tab, click on "System and performance" in the sidebar menu on the left.

    4. Under "System" you need to deactivate the option "Startup boost" by pressing the toggle switch on the right side of this option (The Toggl Switch shouldn't be blue afterwards).

After you have made these settings in Microsoft Edge, the browser should no longer start when you launch Windows 10.
I hope I could help you with your problem.

    With kind regards
