Refresh Terminal icon on Taskbar for Improved Functionality

I added the Terminal application to the taskbar in Win11 22H2.

Previously, I had Ubuntu installed via WSL, but have since removed it.

Despite uninstalling Ubuntu, when I right-click the Terminal icon, the option for Ubuntu still appears in the menu alongside Windows PowerShell, Command Prompt, and others.

I am looking to remove the Ubuntu option from this menu. I attempted to remove the Terminal from the taskbar and add it again, but the Ubuntu option persists.

    1.Unpin and Repin the Icon:

Unpin: Right-click on the Terminal icon in the taskbar and select Unpin from taskbar.
Repin: Open the Start menu, find Windows Terminal (or the terminal application you're using), right-click it, and select Pin to taskbar.

    2.Check for Updates:

    Open the Microsoft Store.
Click on the Library icon (usually in the bottom left corner).
Click on Get updates to see if there are any updates available for Windows Terminal.

    3.Change Icon Settings:

Right-click on the Terminal shortcut either on the desktop or in the Start menu.
    Select Properties.
Go to the Shortcut tab and click on Change Icon…. Choose a new icon if you want to update its appearance.

    4.Restart Windows Explorer:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
Look for Windows Explorer, right-click on it, and select Restart. This can refresh the taskbar and its icons.

    Unpin from Taskbar
Right-click on the Terminal icon in the taskbar.
    Select Unpin from taskbar.

    Re-pin Terminal
Open the Start Menu by clicking on the Start button or pressing the Windows key.
Type “Terminal” or “Windows Terminal” in the search bar.
Right-click on the Windows Terminal app.
    Select Pin to taskbar.

Method 2: Reset the Icon Cache

If you're experiencing issues with the icon itself, you may want to clear and reset the icon cache.

    Open Command Prompt as Administrator
Right-click on the Start Menu and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
