File to run compatibility with Windows XP service pack 2

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I'm a first timer here, I just joined.  First, I hope I'm in the right place to get help for a question I have.

Second, I hope my question makes sense the way I'm going to ask it.

On You Tube I watched a video on how to "Reset a Waste Ink Absorber and Counter for an Epson XP-800 printer".

The technician said the file I have to do that task can only be run on Windows XP service pack 2.

My laptop is running Microsoft Edge Windows 10.  The Technician stated if I am running in anything but Windows XP service pack 2, I need to "Set the file in Compatibility Mode with Windows XP service pack 2".

Honestly, this is way over my head and I would like help understanding what I need to do to achieve this.

As I said above, I hope this question makes sense, I am only repeating what the Technician stated in the video.  Is this something that can be answered here in Microsoft Tech Community or should I be elsewhere?  Thank you so much in advance for a reply.  TheJuke16

@TheJuke16 Yes, you've posted in the Microsoft Edge Insider Discussions forum, which is intended for discussions on the new Edge browser, while your question is more relevant to Windows 10. I'm moving your question to the Windows 10 discussion space.
