File Explorer takes 4-5 seconds to open after updating windows to version 20H2.

File Explorer takes 4-5 seconds to open after updating windows to version 20H2. Tried running system file checker. Didn't work. It's really annoying.

Update: After trying few solutions from other sources, I have restored my Windows to previous stable version.

  • Hi,
when you say it didn't work, do you mean you got an error? what was the result?

No, there was no error. The command executed perfectly. And it even said that few corrupted files has been repaired. But sadly, file explorer still took a lot of time to open. Thanks for replying though. I have restored my Windows to previous stable version.
  • Hello Null_Pointer,

Try these steps and see if that helps:

    1. Search for 'windows powershell' using Cortana or Windows Search.

    2. From results, choose Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.

    3. Then type/paste following and press Enter key:

    Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth

    4. Let the command complete, restart your system then.

If issue still persists, perform clean boot:

Let us know if this helps!

Thanks for replying. But I have restored my Windows to previous stable version. I'll definitely give it a go if I plan to update in future.
