Registering for a workshop but getting no access

I had registered for a workshop (Teams Phone) at 1 PM, put it neatly in my agenda and copied the link for participation in it.

At 12.59 PM today I clicked on the link and then it said I could have registered up to 15 minutes before the start. Result: I couldn't access the workshop. Not very user-friendly.

How was I supposed to know? And does anyone recognise this weird behaviour by MS?

Not sure I completely follow your scenario - was this a Teams Webinar you registered for? If so, you should have received a confirmation registration mail with an included calendar item, that already has the relevant join link (so not sure what you copied above?). Can you elaborate a bit?

Yes, it was a Teams Webinar I registered for, and indeed I received a confirmation registration mail with an included calendar item incl. link. That's the link I used to get in, after which I got the message that I should have registered at least 15 minutes before. But I WAS registered.
I could not get in.
