Add Shortcut to OneDrive issues
Hi, There are currently two noticeable issues when adding a shortcut to OneDrive: Upon adding a shortcut, a small pop-up notification appears indicating that the shortcut has been added to OneDrive, with a hyperlink to ‘My files’. However, clicking on this hyperlink does not navigate the user to ‘My files’ as expected. This functionality was previously operational but seems to have stopped working. When attempting to rename the shortcut via the OneDrive web interface, the system automatically appends a dot followed by a fragment of the SharePoint Online site name. The current workaround for this issue is to rename the shortcut via File Explorer once it has been synced to your local computer. I hope these issues will be fixed in the near future. Thanks, Mike13KViews0likes6CommentsAvoid the need to switch accounts for the same email address in Microsoft Teams
Hi, The introduction of Microsoft Teams 2.0 brought forth new features designed to improve multi-account and multi-tenant support. These changes are undoubtedly a move in the right direction for easing collaboration across multiple organisations and simplifying account management. Yet, there exists a significant gap in the user experience that continues to affect many professionals. The main issue lies in the inability to see all teams from different organisations, of which a user is a member, in a single window. This forces the user to switch between accounts or organisations to maintain a complete view. Many expected this problem to be addressed with the launch of Teams 2.0, particularly given the new Multi-Tenant Multi-Account (MTMA) support. To clarify, I work with Company C1 but also have a Guest account in Company C2. Despite the capability in Teams 2.0 to log into both accounts at the same time, I must switch between C1 and C2 to view the specific teams to which I belong. This means I cannot see all my five teams (three with C1 and two with C2) in one interface. One potential solution could be a unified interface that displays all the teams from different organisations under the Teams tab on the left-hand side: - C1 - Team 1 - Team 2 - Team 3 - C2 - Team 1 - Team 2 This structured view would negate the need for toggling between accounts, offering a comprehensive overview of all a user's teams, irrespective of the organisation they belong to. This isn't just about enhancing user experience; it's about adapting to the needs of modern, collaborative workplaces. Although MTMA support has facilitated managing multiple accounts, the constant need to switch between organisations remains an obstacle that clashes with the flexible and fluid nature of today's collaborative working styles. I hope this feedback will be taken into consideration for future updates, allowing for more streamlined collaboration across different organisational boundaries. The community around Microsoft Teams has long vocalised the need for this feature, and fulfilling this user experience expectation would be greatly welcomed. Thank you for your ongoing efforts to improve the Microsoft Teams platform. I look forward to experiencing a more integrated and user-friendly Teams service in the near future.1.2KViews2likes2CommentsRe: Using Teams with multiple organizations
The latest Teams 2.0, I tested yesterday and unfortunately you still have to switch between organisations. In other words, I work for Company C1, and I have a Guest account (same email address though) in Company C2. In my Teams 2.0, I still have to switch between C1 and C2 on Teams, to see the list of Teams. In C1, I am joined in 3 Teams, and in C2 I am joined in 2 Teams. I just cannot see all 5 Teams together in one window. Is that a hard ask? When a user click on the Teams button on the left, the UI should be like this: C1 > Team 1 > Team 2 > Team 3 C2 > Team 1 > Team 2 There you go, no more account switching, and all the teams you joined as a human, are there. I don't know how more simply I have to explain this to Microsoft. We have been asking this for years.3.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Multiple Organizations in teams
ChristianJBergstrom hi, you see that they closed that Feature Request off, but they never implemented what was requested. The very first sentence of the request says: Please allow us to use multiple accounts at the same. This never happened. If Mike is employed by Org1 and Aaron is with Org2, it is likely that in the new Teams 2.0, Mike (as a Guest in Org2's Teams) can still converse with Aaron, while Aaron (as a Guest in Org1's Teams) can communicate with Mike. This setup would essentially allow for two completely separate one-to-one conversations to occur.3.5KViews0likes1Comment
