Where Did My Link Editing Go?

We previously had the functionality that if a sharing link for a file or folder already existed, we were able to edit that link to add additional users, change the security (view vs. edit), all without having to delete and create a new link from scratch.

However, upon logging in this month I found that the functionality had been removed, and we are once more left with having to delete a link and recreate any time we would like to make changes to the link recipients or permission levels.

Does anyone have documentation on why this change was made, and what the future of editing already-active links looks like?

The Support team said this change in user interface was intentional, yet there is no documentation or release notes around the change - the edit link ability was just gone.

  • Hi Fab_Franz,

Sorry about the delay in response here! The ability to add/remove people to link was introduced via the new Manage Access pane that originally rolled out in early December. We identified a bug and rolled it back while we implemented the fix. You should see this functionality again very soon. Thanks!
