Team Site mobile error

I have a Team Site and a Communication site. The team site has a custom list with 8 columns. I want a link that points to the new item form. I access the new item form and choose copy link and take the URL and create a link on the Team Site's left hand navigation. From the browser, the link takes me to the new item form. From mobile I get a "something went wrong" error message. If I create a link on the main page of the Team site the link works in both mobile and the browser. If I create a link to the new item form in the Navigation of the Communication site it works on both browser and mobile. So, there seems to be a problem with links to the new item page in the Team Site Navigation. Can anyone replicate this and is there a suggested resolution? Thanks.
