SharePoint site capacity notification

Copper Contributor

Hi there,

I have this behavior with my SharePoint site (company.sharepoint.com/sites/mmm):

  • In the Modern View mode, there is no capacity warning
  • In Classic SharePoint mode, there is a yellow warning on top of the site: "Running out of space. This site is almost out of storage space. To free up space, delete files you don't need and empty the recycle bin."

Do you know if this could be a malfunction warning in "classic experience" or it is a true message ?

(I have no access to SP Admin portal for checking site capacity)

Thanks for your feedback!

Regards,

madrid

Hello @madrid_sol

i don't know this message with the behavior in different experiences.

But you are a SiteCollection admin, right?

Check this point:

  1. Go to the Site Settings page.
  2. Under Site Collection Administration, select Storage Metrics.

You will see the storage overview of your site.

Other, check the storage used with your admins direct in the SharePoint admin center.

Hi @madrid_sol

  • If you have a Communication site, as a site collection admin you should receive email from email address removed for privacy reasons for storage.
  • If you have a Teams site and you have allowed "external senders to email this group" for your group, you should get the notification as well.
