Mega Menu Format - SharePoint Online

I recently made changes to the mega menu on our organisations SharePoint page, and over the weekend (28/29 January 2023) the formatting of the columns went crazy.  Instead of shortening the characters as it normally does, and using the 3 dots to symbolise that there is additional words hidden, it showed all the characters and over wrote them into the next column, over the words into the following column, making it an awful mess.

Was there an update to SharePoint over the weekend that made a change to the mega menu? And is there a way that I am able to format the mega menu so this doesn't happen?  Or is this a bug?

We've had the exact same issue recently: overrun of navigation. No changes to our environment our end.

    Update:

We reported this issue to Microsoft as a Premiere support client and sometime late 13/02/2023 (GMT) Microsoft made an update to patch the error and this was resolved. I hope this was effected for all.

We had the same issue happening this week...

But luckily just a few of our headings were so long that this happened, so we just shortened them manually to fix this.

I think it is a bug (and hope it is temporary), but it made us think about the length of all of our headings in general.

    Best Regards,
    Sven

    PS:
Take a look at this article "http://vipulkelkar.blogspot.com/2019/01/update-navigation-nodes-in-sharepoint.html". You could use that Powershell script as a base to iterate through all of your navigation nodes, shorten the title, append three dots und update the nodes yourself to fix that temporarily.
Once the bug is fixed you could restore the long titles.
