Is there a way to sort numerically?

We all agree this is stupid, right?

This looks normal to me... what software are you using that let you sort a basic string column by number?

@Mysticode Microsoft Exporer. MacOS Finder. Microsoft Excel. NUMBERS....

I honestly can't think of any other application where 1 is followed by 10 rather than 2.

Because that's how numbers work.

@Anthony-123 with the business management system at my company we have several hundred pages. Due to the way SharePoint has always done numbering we use the numbering system C01-01, C01-02, C01-03, C02-01, C02-02,C02-03 etc etc.

So you're saying because SharePoint can't simply sort by numbers like every other system, it's advisable to rename all our documents.

Sure. That makes sense, MICROSOFT.

@Anthony-123 well given that Microsoft haven't changed the ordering system in the last 20 years then....yes. Much easier to do that than wait for another 20 years for something that might not happen.
