How to give line item permissions in a list to users listed in line item custom name (text) columns

Hello,

I have quite complex scenario where I need an advise what are the feasible options available.

I have a SharePoint list "A" which works as a backend data source for a PowerApps Form.

For that SharePoint "A" list I have several validations set from SharePoint

For that SharePoint list "A", I gave the members and Visitors custom permission by only adding an item and viewing the line item created by the user.

In that SharePoint List "A", I use 3 look up columns to chose 3 users and their assistants from another SharePoint List "B".

Now I need to give access to that line item to those 3 assistance associated with the 3 lookup column users selected in List "A"

How can I achieve this ?

Should I create another SharePoint List "C" a replica of "A" to provide line item access to those associate users listed in the list items? I am stuck with my SharePoint knowledge expertise in this situation?

What are the feasible options available in SharePoint for this?

Any help or guidance will mu appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Akshay

  • I actually found a workaround for this. Using Power Automate to stop sharing the line item as soon as it is created and then granting the access to the people I need so it does what was required.

For that I had to release the restriction of "Read items created by user" in Item level permission by changing it with "Read all items".
