Critical tasks on Gantt chart view on SharePoint project Site

Hello,

We are on Project server 2019 on Premise system. The projects are published to the PWA and have connected a SharePoint site for the project. The SharePoint project Tasks page shows project schedule task in list. The Task list has a Gantt Chart view . Is there a way to see Critical tasks on Gantt chart view of Project task list?
If not, are there any possible ways we could extend Gantt view to show Critical task.

It sounds like you want to customize the information shown on the Tasks page in PWA. If that is the case, you can add the Critical column to the My Assignments view (which is listed in the My Work section of the Manage Views page. Hope this helps.

Thank you, Dale. The task list is on PWA Project SharePoint Site.
The Project schedule is synchronized to the SharePoint Task list on Project site. I don't see option in the task list to select/set Critical Task.

If you are using the SharePoint Tasks List feature in Project Web App, then no, there is no way to display a Gantt Chart or Critical Path. Sorry, but hope this helps.

There is a Gantt chart view for the Task list. Is there a way I could extend the view to show Critical Task?

Well, I stand corrected! I never use the SharePoint Tasks List feature in Project Online, so I was totally unaware that you can apply a Gantt Chart view to the task list. Sorry about that! 😞

So, I want to the Project Site for one of my enterprise projects, displayed the Tasks page, and then displayed the Gantt Chart view. When I clicked the "Modify this view" item, I was hoping to see that the Critical column was avaialable for inclusion in this view. Alas, the Critical field IS NOT available. So, I think you are out of luck. Sorry about that!

Out of curiosity, what exactly are you trying to do with the Tasks page in the SharePoint site? If you could explain further, maybe there is another way to meet your needs. Please let us know and we will try to help you.

Project Site for each projects hosts Tasks, Risk, and Issues list. Our PMs would like to see everything in one place. Gantt view for critical task would be useful for us.
Looking for suggestion on how to include Critical field on the existing Gantt Chart. I would like to keep the same view. Any suggestion as to how we could build on top of Gantt view?

I am not aware of any way to customized the Gantt Chart view in the Project Site to show the Critical Path. Out of curiosity, why aren't your PMs using the Project Center page in PWA instead? If you did this, your PMs could click the name of a project and then apply the Tasks Tracking view that displays red Gantt bars for tasks on the Critical Path. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale. PMs are using that functionality on PWA but we intend to provide that on Project Site as well. I am hoping someone in this Microsoft project forum has some information on it. Appreciate all your help.

HI,

as Dale mentioned, since you are using the out of the box Task list in the project site template that sync is not available to us to configure or change, so if the critical path or any field is not in available unfortunately you don't have much options when it come to the site. we built something to achieve this requirement (i want to see it all in one place) but we did it in reverse, we rollup all the SharePoint data to PWA and then we display it all in project detail pages
