Copy Planner in MS Teams

Copper Contributor

Hi

how can I copy an already existing plan within the same team in MS Teams?

I know how to copy single Tasks, however not how to copy the whole plan

Thank you in advance

You can do it but from the Tasks UI

However then the Plan is not embeeded in MS Teams. I would like to add the copied plan as a Plan in MS Teams

@DzanaS It is not possible to copy the plan within the same team now. When you copy it from the Planner, it will create a new team. You can use third-party apps to do this easily.

@SanthoshB1 thanks for your reply!

Solution

@DzanaS You can copy a Plan through the Planner Web UI. You can choose which Group/Team to copy the plan into. Once you do that, you can add the now-newly-existing plan to the proper Teams channel. Hope this helps - you can read more here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/planner-blog/expanding-the-copy-plan-and-filtering-features-b...

@SanthoshB1 you can copy plans into existing teams/groups without the need of 3rd party apps.

@jackieduong Great! 🙂 Thank you very much Jackie!

@jackieduong Yes, this is the new feature available in Planner. Earlier when we copy the plan it will create a new group, so to overcome this limitation I have mentioned third party app. I admit it is available with Planner itself now.
