Unable to Insert Images in Forum Posts

I wanted to illustrate a reply with a screenshot today, but the site wouldn't let me simply upload an image, but instead presented a dialog asking for what I thought was an image link.

It isn't unusual for forums to prevent direct image uploads, but when I gave gave it the URL for the image I saved to Imgur and tried to post the forum responded with

"Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied."

So I just inserted a hyperlink to the Imgur image.

Has direct image upload been disabled here?

Can someone explain how to embed viewable images in posts and replies?

As far as I know, new users cannot share images, this was disabled due to spamming (it was very burdensome for the community).

You will definitely be able to share images, but it will happen at a later time.!

If that's the case, that's a dumb move. We rely on images to be able to convey the problem we need help with. Well, I guess this is what makes Apple different from MS. Typical MS
