Sort folders in New Outlook

Hi all,

New to the forum, so apologies if this has been asked (I could not find an answer by searching).

In classic outlook I could sort subfolder by right click on the parent folder and sort A-Z. In fact, when I 'move' a folder, it goes to the top of the new folder, and does not seem to be a way to manually sort it.

Is there a way to sort subfolders (A-Z is preference, but if that can't happen, then manually), in New Outlook?

RobertSparnaaij thanks for getting back to me. Do you know if this is an item being included in thsoe works?

I quite like the new outlook, but it has some seemingly 'basic' functionality missing such as this, cannot multi select calendar items to bulk update etc that sees me not able to commit to it.

I see the roadmap item but it doesn't say anything about sorting, it just says you can manually sort.  I just installed new Outlook.  Sorting still does not work at all, either manually or automatically; the rollout date says Sep 2024 but I am not optimistic about automatic sorting.

Fish0010 Thanks for letting me know. I am m pretty sure I could manually sort (useless when you have a lot of folders, and move child folders between parent folder a fair bit), but I am avoiding using it. A few other features that I use frequently are not in the New Outlook as well, which is a shame as there are some good features of it. Unfortunately, the missing features out way the positive.

      Please release the update!
My folders are ordered manually based on my work demand, and new Outlook screw things up by sorting folders in a whatsoever order that you define. New Outlook is too focused on flashy features and somehow just neglect all the tiny details that earned the practicality in old Outlook. In all senses, I'd say old Outlook is more powerful than the new one.

md_mandcs This is a silly workaround, but I switch back to Old Outlook, leaving a feedback comment, and then in Old Outlook it auto sorts, and holds onto the new sorting when I swap back to new outlook. If just adding one new folder though I can usually get it to drag where I want it though.

md_mandcs I have the same need.  This is really annoying, backward step. It's a pretty basic requirement.
