Outlook - Approvals formatting

I was sure that Outlook for Desktop gave a similar Approvals email to Outlook Web Access. I.e. it understands that an approval has been completed. It also allows you to add comments directly. Now, Outlook for Desktop doesn't allow comments or understands if an approval was already complete. Is this some setting I may have enabled/disabled?
