How to remove account from Outlook Bar that isn't in Accounts?
I've got two instances of an IMAP email account sitting empty in the Outlook bar, but with no account in the Accounts window. I tried adding a new account, tried deleting the .ost. I can't re-add the account because apparently it exists, twice, in the bar, though it's empty. I have it working on my desktop just fine.
- You don't need to delete the profile (you can do that from the Control panel or File > Account Settings > manager profiles) - you can look in the registry for a key and delete it.
Browse the 00000* subkeys at Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles\[profilename]\9375CFF0413111d3B88A00104B2A6676 - delete the keys for that address. That should fix it. - MDadarkarBrass ContributorHi,
First, close your Outlook app.
Note: Please take the registry backup before doing any changes.
Open Registry and go to >>> Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Profiles
Look for profiles, if exist then delete them.
Close the regsitry and recreate your profile >>>> Control Panel > Mail > Email Accounts >
Thank you,
