File Transfer Limitations

What is everyone's take on OneDrive for Business file transfer limitations such as what it considers as invalid characters in file names during files and folders transfer process?  Why can't the file and folder transfer process (copy and paste) be similar to mapped network drives for local Microsoft file server shares?
