The time in Teams app is 1 hours earlier than my time
Hello community. I'm new to Microsoft Teams app and I got a problem with it. The time displayed in chat or calendar is 1 hours early then my local time. I'm in Ottawa and using UTC-5 Eastern time. My system time is 1:02 PM right now and I have a meeting in 2:00 PM, but in Teams the last message I received has a time stamp of 12:02 and the meeting is displayed at 1:00 PM.
The language setting of Teams app is English(Canada). I also tried English (United Stats) but doesn't help at all.
BTW when I posting this topic, on the webpage it says
"Your content was last auto-saved at 10:04 AM" There must be something wrong.
IceRain If the settings are OK in Teams web you don't have to check with the admin. You could try and delete the Teams cache in your computer as it seems to fix other strange behavior. By the way, any difference if you sign out and back in manually using the desktop app?
Go to this location to clear the cache
AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams (you can be selective as many guides describe in detail but just delete the entire Teams folder).
If that doesn't solve the issue I'm afraid I'm running out of suggestions as you've checked all other settings related to date/time. Perhaps a new Windows profile is needed.
IceRain Hello, selecting your preferred language and region in Teams usually updates your time and date format. From your description it seems as if you're not been set up correctly in the back end and/or you need to check the other date and time settings in your OS (computer). Reach out to your admin to verify the underlying settings (SharePoint).
My system time is correct. It is synchronised with windows time and correct comparing with my local time. But I'm not sure what does the "underlying settings (SharePoint)." mean. Here is a screenshot about my system time and the settings in Teams.
IceRain How is the time/date setting when using the web app? When a Team is created there's also an associated M365/SharePoint group created (these can have an incorrect timezone). Reach out to your admin, he/she should know what to do.
