Options other than tags in at team?

Copper Contributor

Hi

A user wants everyone in a Team to get an alternative reminder if something new happens in the Team (if possible). The user often seems to find, that participants in a (his) Team don't return to a post. Therefore he thinks that the tag-function  (@..... ) is not quite enough?

Is there an other way to tag users so that everyone (al members in a specific team) automatically receives a notification at "new post" in the Team?

Hi,

So tagging can be done of different ways.
You have the Mention (@user) on user level, this will only trigger the notification for that specific user. You can also mention a channel (@channelname) so all members of that channel will receive a notification. You can even mention a complete teams team (@TeamName) to trigger the notification for all members of that team.

But you can also use the “tag” function. Default setting is that only owners of that teams can create tags. Tags can be used for mentioning.
For example, the teams owner creates a tag with the name “SalesReps” and assign the tag to all sales people in the Teams.
Now everyone in the team can use @SalesReps to mention all the sales people that are tagged by the teams owner.
