How to see your chats and your participants in MS Teams at the same time?

On the right side, it would be great to be able to see the people in the meeting as well as the chat at the same time. Toggling back and forth is not efficient.

How can I see my chats and my participants in MS Teams at the same time?

  • lizettedp Hello! This is not possible today. But there are several UserVoice request for the feature. I believe these are the ones with most votes (will most likely be merged).

Vote to push them up and to be notified when status changes!

*edit* You can pop-out a chat with one or more participants outside of the ongoing meeting but it's not the smoothest "workaround".

The links where we could vote for this enhancement do not lead me to the correct topic to vote on. I think this is a very important enhancement since it is useful to have a clear idea of who is on a chat and who is not.

      Do you know how

Somehow got cut-off... anyhow, I was going to ask
Do you know how I could vote for this enhancement? Also, I would like to be notified when it is available.

Actually, you can not pop out a meeting chat window. Only a standard chat window.
You could however, have another computer where you are signed into the web version or app version of Teams and manage the meeting that way. You will have two screens one were you present and the other with the controls. Zoom is still the best platform for what you want to do. Teams is much more collaborative and isn't truly designed for presentations. Not yet anyway...

Alright, let's see. I replied to this 9 months ago.. Where did I mention you could pop-out a meeting chat? I only see I said "you can pop-out a chat".

For the record, I tend to disagree with the presentation part with what has just been released at Ignite when it comes to presenting in Teams.
