How to force a notification of a post in Teams to an email account?

It seems that when using posts in the main channel or via chat the vital notification only goes to the activity tab but one has to be logged into teams to see it. Not all members are routinely using Teams so an email notification is vital. I have tried @@individual or @groupname within the message too but it only goes to the activity tab.  Can advice be given please on how to force a notification to the email address of all members?

@colgorI think this setting is for individual users which they can control by going to profile picture in the top right of teams, then select settings > notifications...

Hi - did this work as an effective solution for colleagues that did not use Teams routinely? I am struggling with this issue and at risk of missed deadlines.
