Dial in Participant and web appearance

Is there a way to join an audio joiner with their web presence? Most web conferencing allows the audio and video to be linked together.

  • jdunham60 If you allow the meeting to dial you when you join in a browser that call will be associated, I cant see how it could know to match your phone number when you dial in.

with GoToMeeting, you enter #nn code, which then connects your web appearance with your video appearance. I used to work for AT&T and they had an in-house app AT&T Connect, which also allowed me to link a phone in user with a video user.

Sounds like there may be an enhancement coming in the future.

  • Hi jdunham60

The Dial-In Participants are treated a Guest User and they are through PSTN Network hence having a Web Presence is difficult for the Audio Users.

But for the Guest Users in the Teams can have their presence accordingly.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have co-workers who login to the Teams meeting, but they can't use computer audio. Either they don't have a headset or their internet is not good enough for audio. So when they are in the meeting twice - once as audio and once as video.

Other web conferencing platforms I have used allow the host to link audio with video, so the participant has only one appearance in the meeting.

Just wondering if there is a hack to connect the 2 sessions.

      • Hello,

Yes they would be treated as Two Separate Instance of people joining the Teams Meeting. Microsoft is working on one of the feature wherein we would be capable of renaming the existing number and also authentication of the user. Probably Once User Authentication through PSTN is available we might be able to have One User Displayed in the Teams Client.

But when I compare the same with other Web Conferencing Solution Like WebEx from Cisco there too the same thing happens unless you are requesting for a call back features from the Application being a Authenticated User.
