Hi all,

we have a requirement where an organization wishes to delete user's 1-1 chat in their Microsoft Teams environment with following requirements:

  1. All users should be able to delete their 1-1 chat history from Web, Desktop and Mobile clients.
There is a user voice for this topic. Delete Private Chat threads

o we have workaround for deleting 1-1 chats?
  2. IT Admin should be retrieve all the chats which are deleted.

Please advice.

Solution

1. Vote for the UV and get others to vote for it. Microsoft marked it as on the backlog so at least they are thinking about implementing this. I don't think there is any workaround, the closest is to hide a chat.

2. You can use retention policies to accomplish this.
