creating a folder structure
i am having troubles creating a folder structure. I have created a main folder, i gave around 20 email addresses access to that folder> these users are also group members. In that main folder, i created for every group a new folder, only they and some supervisors may have acces to that folder. I shared that folder with the group members by sending them an invitation by mail.
first, i noticed i need acces to the sharepoint environment to do this, i cannot do this from the team app at my desktop.
second, i noticed s group members and owners also have access to the folders i want to share with some specific users. But how do i know who resides in these folders and can i remove them so only the users i gave access through the link by e-mail have access?
regards,

Hi Deleted,
Adam did a good job explaining this.
I was reading an article yesterday that may be worth mentioning in this context.

- You’re messing this up for yourself! Teams is built upon collaboration within a Teams and every folder and file will automatically be shared with read/write to all member and owners. You don’t need to invite owners and members to files/folders with that Teams SharePoint library.
For now all sharing is done through SharePoint! It will be possible later to share files and folders from within Teams! I do not recommend to set up this structure within the Teams library though but instead create additional libraries and set explicit permission to those and then add these to teams as cloud storage or library tabs.
You also have the possibility to create private channels to restrict information and files from the rest of the team.
What you are describing will end up in a mess, I’m afraid

Many thanks for the advice.
Can you advice how to do that? I need to give specific users access to specific folders, just like when using a file server
- Are those users members of the team? If so, create a private channel and add those users as member of that channel.
If none of the members of that Team should have access to some files, the files really should not be in that Team.
