Can I make "share audio" permanent/default when sharing my screen?
I often share my screen with my online English class. If what I am sharing has an audio component, I want to be able to share that audio as well as the visual. Yes, I see the checkbox for that option when I have chosen share screen (above desktop, window, etc). But what irks me is that I need to remember to recheck that box every time i share a new screen - or even return to the same screen after delay.
I would like the box to just "stay checked" - when I'm sharing a screen with no related audio nothing would play because there's nothing there. But the option would be on by default as soon as
I share that screen. That way I wouldn't have to constantly recheck the box. Obviously, I often forget and then need to go back and get it.
Is there some way I can make the box "stay checked"?

User voice disabled, is there another way to upvote this feature?!? - Dromano13Copper ContributorPlease make this an option!!! as a trainer that uses different videos, its a nightmare to have to stop and start because the toggle gets reset! If not making it permanent, at least make it permanent for a session, so you stop the video, speak and restart the video

AGCareyAGC We have the same issue. When presenting to customers a video of our machines we have to remember to select it. Also, it requires us to train our sales team on this minor feature which has a huge impact on the presentation. Some presentations have failed entirely when no one on the call knows about this requirement. Please give us the option to default share computer sound ASAP! Honestly, this should have been defaulted from the beginning.
- mslexijoBrass ContributorOMG!!! I have the same EXACT issue. I teach PreK and go back and forth every 3-5 minutes and I’m finding it to be such a waste of time. I forget to check the box then have to go back and start the process over. Highly frustrating. The kids are great and so patient but it’s difficult to focus on teaching when you have to be focused on the technology to work too. @linus Some days are better than others but yesterday was terrible for me. I posed same question and I didn’t get an answer. I’ve looked all over and there’s no choice to make that the default. There really should be. Why is there a mute button if you don’t want to be heard but not this option? I suppose nobody thought it was important. If you’re selling this product to education, this is critical. What about sound in a PowerPoint embedded video? I haven’t figured that out yet either. I’m pretty tech savvy but Teams makes me feel complete inept-not good.
- Hi,
That is not possible but a interesting idea. You can create a uservoice request for it at https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/
The problem I see is that users might forget about that this is checked and share more than they want by accident.
