Bluetooth audio out stops when using Teams
- Feb 05, 2021
I've been criticizing Microsoft for owning the problem and doing nothing about it. I did follow the suggestion from Sven and updated the driver for my Intel Wireless Bluetooth device. With driver version 22.20.0.3 - 2020-11-27 the problem seem to be there no more.
With that I was wrong in my opinion that Microsoft is to blame for the issue and that you deliberately would ignore the problems caused. I apologize for that.
kind regards

reneelaulupiduee This is amazing. I am blown away, a suggestion that I can confirm works. This is truly brilliant. Thank you for sharing, I encourage everyone else to give this a go too!

JWu28 I wish! I was hopeful this would apply to my device, however I upgraded my drivers to the latest Intel bluetooth driver (BT-22.170.0-32-64UWD-Win10-Win11.exe) and I am on Win11 with latest updates, audio is still killed if using a microphone other than the bluetooth headset. It seems to activate some mode that requires both mic + sound to go through the BT headset. This prevents audio while the call is active, even if I have working music + an active call using the web browser.
If there was a way to prevent engaging BT Phone mode (or whatever it is), I'm sure this would solve the issue. I'm stuck using a browser to get hifi sound, which would be fine, but the web app doesn't have all the capabilities of the desktop app. Still so frustrating.
