If I activate and copy of Office by a user and then want to switch that activation to a Shared Computer, I know I can set the registry key but want to know what happens to the old license/activation.
I did this as a test, activated Office as UserA and saw the license being used in the console. I then set the SharedComputerLicensing key in the registry and saw in "About Word" that it is now a Shared Computer but the license is still "taken" from UserA.
Will the Activation be given back to UserA or does UserA have to go in and manually Deactivate the activation?
Thanks, just trying to understand the process.

SolutionNo, it doest automatically remove it, neither does reinstalling Office with a different user. You can go to the O365 admin center and remove this device from the list of Office activations for that user though.
