PowerPoint transition Morph

Hello all,

I have a question about the "Morph" transition in Microsoft PowerPoint. It's about the fact that I have created four slides in which different years are displayed. I have selected "Morph" as the transition.

In slide one (year 1977) and slide two (year 1989) the transition works without problems and the years shift vertically.

However, from slide two (year 1989) to slide 3 (year 2007), one number shifts diagonally to the right. This also happens in the transitions from slide three (year 2007) to slide 4 (2010).

Can anyone give me a hint as to why this is happening?
