PowerPoint Slide Master Changes Disappear After Saving

Running into an issue with a PowerPoint template. I am able to change things in the slide master view, and when I close the view my changes appear. 

The problem is that as soon as I save the PowerPoint, a text box pops up in the bottom left corner that overlaps my original text. I can move and delete it, but as soon as I save the PowerPoint it pops right back up. It is not in the footer, just seems like a random text box that only appears when you save the template.

Please help!
