Excel Sumif references

I am 100% self taught on Excel via trial and error and a few visits to Youtube.

I have built a cashflow projection sheet which looks at data populated on tabs and pulls them through to a tab that shows cash in and cash out month on month per item type. For example Material Spend January and March, Sud Contractor Spend January and June.

I have done this by using the following(With the dates changing in each corresponding month column)

=SUMIFS('Advanced Payment'!$F$3:$F$488,'Advanced Payment'!$E$3:$E$488,">=01/01/2020",'Advanced Payment'!$E$3:$E$488,"<=31/01/2020")

However I would like to get the date variable to look at and reference a value within a cell to enable me to put in a new start month and get the sheet to be updated via changing one set of dates in one row rather than going into every single cell and changing 01/01/2020 to 01/01/2021.

Is there a way to get ">=01/01/2020" to look at a specific cell and reference a value within? For example if I put 01/01/2020 in cell C4 then ">= Contents of C4"?
