Copilot for M365 stuck in reconnecting after switching toggle to web

In Copilot for M365 in Microsoft Edge when we switch the toggle to web, the tool sits at a message "Attempting to reconnect..." after you submit your first prompt.  It stays there until you hit the "New Message" button and then it returns "Sorry, looks like something went wrong.  Let's start over."  I was wondering if this was a configuration item that needs to be changed or if this is a known issue.
