5 TopicsMicrosoft Teams cache in a non-persistent environment
Hi all, My name is Koen and I am working with Microsoft Teams in a Dutch government organization. We like to offer our staff the ability to work from home, especially during the COVID-19 crisis. We already have enrolled Microsoft Teams in our desktop (it came out of nowhere and we are replacing the default web-downloader with the MSI file) For the record: We are using a non-persistent environment with VMWare Horizon Client and thin clients in the office, and mostly the web client when users are working from home. All of our users are having a profile where we store the temp files like caches and stuff. Also %AppData% is located in that profile. This data is presistent and will be availible on every boot, when they authenticate. But, we are looking for a way to change the Microsoft Teams cache location. We have limited disk space on the 'profile' disk. The problem is, that Microsoft Teams uses the folder %AppData%\Microsoft\Teams\Service Worker\CacheStorage as location of some caching files. The size of the folder is at least 200MB, and some other users are having a folder with at least 500MB cache. We have 200+ users, so when I calculate this ( 200(users)x200(MB) : 40.000MB/40GB for only the smallest caches. And the profile disk is only 100GB (for example) This is why we want to replace (or totally disable) the cache. I already looked in the newest Administrative Templates (for Office 365, 2016 and 2019) and the desktop-config.json - but I can't find the right way to do this. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?91KViews0likes5CommentsDEploying team chat bot
I have (using QNA maker) created a working chat bot. I have deployed to azure and using the 'url' for the app people have been able to test it ok I am now ready to deploy to teams. I have change the org settings for custom apps, and using the Teams Developer Portal I have created the app. 1) Using TOOLS - BOT MANAGEMENT, I added the bot using its defined end point 2) I created an app and in APP FEATURES I pointed at the Chat Bot 3) I went through all the setup and was able to publish to ORG 4) Allowed the app in Global Policy The app now appears in 'Deployed to your organisation', but there is no 'Add' button so I cant actually 'install' the app. IN the dev portal when I click 'Preview in Teams' I get the warning that custom apps are blocked by my organisation, but when I check the global settings this is 100% not the case note : when I check against 'Deploy to Store' - which will never be needed, the app passes all checks 100% Can anyone please advice why my app is not installable1.7KViews1like2CommentsFinding the correct version of Windows for Teams Rooms installation
We are trying to build our own Mic Teams Rooms using a few spare equipment we have. We started with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, version 2004 as the operating system. We are trying to use CreateSrsMedia.ps1 on this system to create an image on a usb thumb drive. This script asks for a Windows 10 Enterprise installation media. We cannot seem to figure out what version do we need exactly. If we know the version, we may be able to download it from our msdn account. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, version 2004 ISO we have did not do the trick. Has anyone done such an installation before? What versions are we supposed to be using for this? ThanksSolved4.1KViews1like3CommentsTeams deployment
Good morning everyone! We are working with a customer in a wierd case of Teams deployment. Having Exchange 2016 on prem, he wants to start using Teams without syncing AD and without hybrid Exchange. In this case, users will have two accounts, ie: one for login in OWA and another to use Teams. Also, Teams chats will be stored in Exchange Online. In the future, he wants to integrate on prem with cloud enviroments. We mentioned that Teams stores chats in Exchange, so when the customer goes hybrid, there will be chats loss. If we configure hybrid Exchange after have used Teams, the new database for Teams chats will be an on prem Exchange mailbox wich has no older Teams chats (stored online). Has anyone have a similar scenario? How can we proceed? Any ideas? Thank you very much! Regards. JeremÃas.789Views0likes0Comments
