Windows 25H2 update – S3 sleep mode compatibility issue Dear Microsoft Engineering Team, hello! I recently discovered a long-standing bug in Windows 11: the computer sleep configuration is the system default, and when it goes to sleep or the second time or after restarting, it will be woken up for no reason during sleep. Personally, I think the compatibility of Windows 11 operating system with S3 sleep is not good, especially for desktops and laptops with 2.5G unlimited brand network cards and onboard 2.5G network cards, there are bugs such as misjudgment of network card signals. In addition, after sleep is awakened, the sound card still has a long silence problem, which can only be restored after a period of time. The program itself does not support the wake-up function after investigation, and the commonly used programs will not disturb sleep, and can eliminate program and hardware problems. I tried the following troubleshooting method 1. Try to reinstall the system and install it cleanly (it cannot be solved) 2: Try to install the latest version of the driver, or even update the BIOS to the latest version (no solution) 3: Replace hardware such as motherboard, memory, power supply, etc., including replacing other brands (unsolvable) 4: Contact Microsoft support and take measures to turn off the wake-on-NIC (temporarily solved, but it affects the wake-on-NIC function, which is inconvenient to use) At present, I don't think this measure is a good stopgap measure, and the measure has seriously affected my normal use of the network card wake-up function, and at the same time is highly dependent on the sleep function. In addition, when asking for help on social media, I saw that ASUS computer staff found sleep compatibility issues between Windows 11 and 2.5G network cards as early as 2024, and the ASUS onboard Intel i226-v network card motherboard could not enter sleep mode normally (model number ROG STRIX B760-G Gaming D4). At the same time, in order to confirm my judgment, I used the tenth generation desktop of my work unit to install the same system to make a comparison, this host is a 1G network card, after testing, the 1G network card in the default power setting (network card wake-up is turned on by default in the device manager power option), there is no above problem, and combined with the two motherboards I replaced before, both have a 2.5G network card on board, one model is (ASUS PRIME B760M-A), the other is (GIGABYTE). GAMING X DDR4 GEN5), and replace a new motherboard again, the problem is still the same, as long as any 2.5G network card on board of any brand of motherboard, including but not limited to self-installed 2.5G network card (network card wake-up is turned on by default in the device manager power options), there is a sudden misjudgment of Windows 11's network card wake-up signal during sleep and is woken up for no reason. At the same time, others have also reported that the motherboard of the 15th generation platform also has the problem of sleep suddenly being woken up by this system bug, so I would like to share my new discovery with you, looking forward to the letter from your behind-the-scenes engineering team, and at the same time, I would like to ask when this problem can be solved (that is, the problem of wake-up suddenly being woken up by a misjudgment signal when the 2.5G network card is turned on by default to wake up and enter sleep)? Thank you very much and look forward to your reply from your engineering team.134Views0likes2CommentsWhat is the circular icon with double arrows in the lower-right corner of the Windows 11 desktop?
An unknown icon has appeared in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar (near the system tray). It looks like a solid dot with two arrows beside it (possibly pointing in the same or opposite directions). Clicking the icon produces no response or pop-up window. However, when you click the ‘Show Desktop’ button on the taskbar, the icon disappears. It reappears once any application window is opened. Please explain the meaning of the icon, its origin, and how to remove it.39Views0likes1CommentHow to Remove the Alphabetical Index Bar Under All Apps in the Windows 11 Start Menu?
I want to remove or hide the alphabetical index bar on the left side of the "All Apps" list in the Start Menu to simplify the visual layout or restore a more traditional list browsing method. No direct option to turn off this index was found in the system settings. Seeking specific adjustment methods.18Views0likes1CommentWindows 11 Initiated a Restore after WinPE / dism partition capture
I recently needed to create backups of a Windows 11 machine. I created a WinPE USB as per Microsoft instructions and booted the laptop into using WinPE (I had already turned off BitLocker on the laptop and waited for it to decrypt the laptop). After I captured the partitions (system, recovery, primary, oem) as separate wim files, I rebooted the machine an it started a System restore, which I was not anticipating and honestly have never had happen before. My experience though is primarily with Windows 10. Is this expected behaviour?50Views0likes1CommentWindows 11 Taskbar Search Box Keeps Loading After Opening
After upgrading the system to Windows 11, clicking on the taskbar search box continuously displays a loading state (spinning circle or no results). However, the search function works normally on another computer upgraded to the same version. It is currently unclear whether this issue is caused by differences in system configuration or corruption of the index. A targeted repair solution is requested.54Views0likes2CommentsSecure Boot Certificate Updates via InTune Policy
We are currently having issues applying the settings required to install secure boot cert updates using the InTune policy method. A brief overview to quickly explain : We are a reasonably large company managing a mix of over 10,000 Windows and iOS devices. Our Windows devices come from the supplier with the Professional edition of Windows pre-installed, this is then changed via an Enterprise key as part of our Autopilot enrolment process and activated via our users subscription license. To all sense and purposes Windows looks and feels like the Enterprise edition, indeed if you check using winver, system settings and activation status for example then Windows tells us that it is the Enterprise edition. However, if you check the licensing using slmgr /dli it shows that the licensing has been reverted back to the OEM Professional edition as pre-installed by the supplier on purchase. This may have always been the case but until very recently has gone unnoticed. Whilst testing the rollout of an InTune policy to allow secure boot cert updates as detailed here : Microsoft Intune method of Secure Boot for Windows devices with IT-managed updates - Microsoft Support , this is failing because the policy is rejected by licensing error : MDM PolicyManager: Policy is rejected by licensing, Policy: (ConfigureMicrosoftUpdateManagedOptIn), Area: (SecureBoot), Result:(0x82B00006) Unknown Win32 Error code: 0x82b00006 InTune reporting directly on the policy shows this as error 65000 We are able to change the key by using slmgr and a combination of MAK\KMS\OEM but whatever keys are applied this always reverts to being the OEM Professional key after the device has been restarted. I have seen that there is a group policy method for setting the required settings for the secure boot cert updates to work, this however seems a very backward approach by Microsoft in an area where they are trying to promote a cloud-first policy. Indeed since we rolled out Windows 11, we as an organisation have been moving anything that we can to cloud in readiness for retirement of our on-prem estate. Microsoft's response to my recent support request was that this is expected behaviour, which to all sense and purposes is not what i would class as a solution. Has anyone else had the same issues when using the InTune policy method, and was a solution found or did you have to return to the dark ages and resort to group policy? There seem to be lots of posts online referring to access to specific registry keys being blocked going as far back as 2024, the suggested script to resolve these permissions and suggested KB articles have not resolved the issue.52Views3likes0CommentsWindows11 File Explorer experiences issues when selecting multiple files
When selecting two or more files in Windows 11 File Explorer, the icons of selected files suddenly become blurry. Testing indicates this issue is directly related to the “Details Pane” on the right: closing this pane or switching to the “Preview Pane” prevents the blurring, though it requires retaining the details functionality. Is there a fundamental fix available (such as an update or registry tweak)?40Views0likes1CommentAfter Windows 11 Update, the New Battery Icon Disappeared
After a recent system update, the new-style battery icon on the taskbar was automatically replaced back to the old version by the system. I prefer the appearance or information display of the new icon. Seeking recovery methods or customization options.95Views0likes1Comment
