Best Practices - Setting up an All-Employee email for internal purposes

I just moved our company to the Office 365 platform and was wondering the best way to create an all employee internal email address that will send to everyone if used.  This would just be used for sending out companywide  emails and nothing else. It looks like there are a couple different ways of doing this, but I wasn't sure if one them would be easier than the others.

Thanks!

  • I suggest a dynamic distribution group, which auto updates whenever you add or remove users. See instructions here: https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/102462-office365-all-users-distribution-group

For us, we have a distribution list (DL All Staff) that we add everyone to when they come on-board.

We also remove them when an employee leaves.

So far we've left that DL open to all staff, but if it was abused we'd look at limiting whom can send to it.
