Yes No in a cell with yes shown unless changed to no

How do i create a cell with yes displayed with a dropdown to display No if required

    Hello Brian1968 ,

     

    It is very simple to create dropdown list. File is attached with an example for you.

     

    Step 1 Select Cells where you want to create dropdown list
    Step 2 Go to Data Tab -> Select Data Validation
    Step 3 Select List in Allow Section
    Step 4 Select Source Cells


    *You can select one cell than expand the list by dragging like any other formula.

      Thanks for the help, do you know how would i keep the yes reply displayed and only change to no if required

        As far as I know, you cannot enter text and a formula in the same cell at the same time.

        Can probably only be done via VBA.

        If you can use VBA, please send the following information.

        Excel version, operating system name and version, an Excel file (without sensitive data),

        so as far as possible you can get a suggested solution that suits your needs.
