very very simple query to append tables (connections) make Excel freeze

I managed to scope down the problematic portion of my working file to just this sheet, and surprisingly what cause my refresh all to freeze for several minutes is this simple query to a consolidate tables by appending the connections, in the early version of this file no problem at all, the refresh done instantly, not sure at which point and how this become corrupted?
this happen both in my work laptop and my personal PC (this one)
any idea?
- Oh, I found the culprit, .xlsb is not supported by power query, and even if you turn the file back from .xlsb it wont fix

- I disabled all COM add-in, tried it in safe mode, all doesn't seems to work.
