Vertical workbook tab scrolling not working

Hi Team, hoping someone can shed some light. Previously (like a month ago) i was able to use my track pad and scroll through my worksheet tabs. I manage a large project financials and have approx 25 tabs, therefore using the trackpad to scroll through the tabs was super efficient. Recently, i've noticed that i cannot do that in the desktop application, i have to use the arrow key and scroll through tabs one at a time. This is really inconvenient and when you have move back and forth from multiple tabs this is time consuming. I see that i can still scroll through tabs when using the online version, however, for my purpose, i need to use the desktop application. I'm currently on Version 2111 (Build 14701.20226). If someone can please tell me how i can get the tab scrolling using my trackpad reinstated that would make my day.
