User permission to edit ranges on Excel 365

Hi Everyone!

I'm hoping you can help me to figure out this one. 

So I'm tasked with restricting some users from modifying certain ranges in a worksheet. The thing is that the workbook is in OneDrive and users edit the shared file in Excel Online and on the Desktop application so I'm not sure that the normal way of allowing certain users to edit ranges on the Desktop application works on the Online application, and I cant find any documentation about this issue. Does anyone knows how to do this?
